Child Injured in Motorcycle Crash

LAKESIDE, Ore. — A man and a boy were injured in a motorcycle accident east of Lakeside Sunday afternoon.

Coos County deputies say around 4:30 p.m., 22-year-old Brandon Lorenzi, of Lakeside, and a 6-year-old Coos Bay boy were riding on a motorcycle on North Lake Road when they collided with a pickup truck.

The boy was taken to Bay Area Hospital and then to Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital in Portland with serious injuries. Lorenzi was also injured.

The pickup’s driver, 66-year-old James McCarthy, was not hurt.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
