Chip Truck Plunges Into Slough

Chip Truck 1COOS BAY, Ore. — There were minor injuries and a big mess after a chip truck plunged into a slough near Coos Bay.

Oregon State Police say it happened at about 10:45 a.m. Monday, two miles north of the Highway 42 junction.

The northbound truck and trailer traveled off the highway between the north and southbound lanes, landing in the water.

Multiple teams have been called in to remove an estimated 100 gallons of diesel that spilled.

The crash also damaged about 100 feet of guardrail.
