Taylor will continue to represent south Eugene for the next four years.
Despite bringing in just 43 percent of votes, Valle told KEZI 9 News he was excited by the issues the election brought up.
“I believe that people will then have the option to have a new perspective, a new way of looking at the next 20 years. It’s very important that we use these type of elections to talk about issues that are important to south Eugene and the rest of Eugene,” Valle said.
Taylor has been on the Eugene City Council since 1997, having first been elected in 1996. She wasn’t available for reaction Tuesday night.
