City Works to Set Up Mobile Health Care

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The city of Springfield may not have won the Bloomberg Mayors Challenge, but it will continue working to establish mobile health care in Springfield and Eugene.

The city’s working to set up a mobile health care system so nurses can come right to your home at a time when doctors’ offices are closed. The doctor would then make a diagnosis via video conferencing.

“We do have a great project. We were able to really refine it during this process, so we want to continue to move forward,” said Niel Laudati, City of Springfield spokesperson.

The city says even though it didn’t receive a grant from Bloomberg, it will try to find another way to fund the program.
