CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State Police say 80 people were ejected from the Civil War game, and two people were sent to jail Saturday afternoon for numerous stadium violations. Troopers say it’s about twice as many incidents compared to a regular game day. But for Civil War, they say those numbers are expected. No major incidents occured but nearly all of them were alcohol related.
“There was no significant people injured, on or off the field, nobody injured outside the stadium, as far as i know we haven’t had any major crashes, overall the day went very well for us,” said Lt. Steve Mitchell, with Oregon State Police.
Traffic control began around 8am. With help from O-DOT and dozens of extra Troopers from all over the state, OSP says patrols went smoothly. There was no unexpected congestion or major traffic violations.
