Meteorologist Melissa Frey’s Forecast Discussion:
Strong winds kept the valley clear overnight. Eugene dropped to 28° before sunrise and was clear when the sun rose this morning. High temperatures will return to the mid 50s in the valley and mid to upper 60s along the coast. Roseburg did start out with fog this morning, but will continue to see clearing into the afternoon. Highs in the Umpqua will return to the mid 50s.
Although high pressure will stick with us through at least Monday, the east winds will weaken Friday night. This means the fog will be back in the valley for the weekend and early next week. Highs will fall to the upper 30s and low 40s in the valley, but stay in the upper 50s with clear skies along the coast.
This ridge of high pressure that has kept us dry for 11 days will finally start to weaken next week. There are a few storms lined up back to back that have the potential to bring back rain to western Oregon. The first chance for rain will be Monday night, then it’s off and on through at least Wednesday.
Have a great weekend!
