Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Clouds rolled in earlier this evening putting a cooler end to what had been a very warm late spring day, as highs jumped into the mid to upper 70s and 80s. Skies will likely see a combo of some clearing and cloud cover. With the high sitting just to our south, we’ve seen a nice draw of some warmer mid-level air which will keep overnight lows very mild, generally in the 50s areawide.
Tomorrow, a weak (and I mean weak) cold front will brush through the state. Light showers about mid-morning through lunchtime at the coast, while inland, the showers will hold off until afternoon into early evening. I’m not expecting a huge push from the front, mainly just light showers but certainly cloudier and a bit cooler than the upper 70s and 80s today. Saturday will be the sunnier of the two weekend days, clouds will be back Sunday with showers late in the evening. Highs very comfortable in the low 70s.
Memorial Day is looking like the strongest day in terms of showers and rain coverage, but even then, they’ll be light. Cooler as well into the holiday with highs falling back into the low 70s to mid 60s. Next week is looking like a mixed bag of sorts, with some showers Tuesday, then drying out later in the week.
Have a great Thursday night!
