EUGENE, Ore. — You might have heard of the website Reddit, or maybe you’re a frequent visitor yourself.

The co-founder of the popular website is speaking in Eugene Wednesday night as part of a book tour.

Alexis Ohanian is the founder of reddit.com and author of a new book called Without Their Permission.

He’s speaking at the Lillis Business Complex about innovation and doing things your way. He’ll also sign books.

A graduate student who reached out to Ohanian and helped coordinate the event says he expects a good turnout, even though not everyone recognizes the name.

“It’s definitely been a mixed reaction. He’s a big name within tech entrepreneurship. He’s a big investor in a lot of businesses today, and so there’s definitely a crowd that knows who he is and has been very excited about having him here, but there’s also a crowd that doesn’t know who he is,” said graduate student Foster Boone.

Boone says the event is open to the public and there are about 300 seats available. The event starts at 7 p.m.
