Coast Guard Rescues Fisherman

COOS BAY, Ore. — The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a fisherman off the coast of Coos Bay Sunday. Officials say the fisherman suffered from internal injuries and needed immediate medical assistance.

The Coast Guard says the American Triumph, a commercial fishing and processing vessel, contacted them around 3:30 p.m. to Medevac a 37-year-old male crew member.

The Coast Guard Sector North Bend, dispatched a motor life boat crew from the Coast Guard Station in Coos Bay.

The boat crew rescued the fisherman from the American Triumph and he was taken by ambulance in stable condition to Bay Area Hospital.

The man was treated and released.
