COOS BAY, Ore. – The U.S. Coast Guard says it’s searching for a missing woman, after a fishing vessel ran aground near Coos Bay Sunday.
Around 7:12 a.m. the Coast Guard says it located and rescued two men and their dog at the north tip of the north jetty at the entrance to Coos Bay; but says it was unable to locate the third person on the vessel.
The Coast Guard says the two men and their dog climbed onto the north jetty after the 30-foot wooden-hulled fishing vessel ran aground on the jetty. The men say the missing woman was not wearing a survival suit or life jacket at the time of the grounding.
The U.S. Coast Guard, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office and the Charleston Fire Department continue to search the area for the missing woman.
