METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Temperatures dropped to the lowest we’ve seen in over six months Friday morning. The Eugene Airport hit its low of 32 at 7 a.m. this beats the old record of 33 set back in 1972.
Clear skies and calm winds were the reason for the chilly night. That will be something we’ll see through the weekend as well. The jet stream is staying to the north of us and this will keep us storm free well into next week.
High temperatures will stay in the low to mid 70s Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will drop to the low to mid 30s.
By Monday we’ll start to see a stronger on-shore flow, and therefore the chance for morning clouds. This will also bring our temperatures up overnight, to the low 40s, but keep us in the low 70s for the afternoon.
If you’re heading out to Reser or especially Autzen this weekend, bundle up it’ll be chilly!!
