Collector Holding Huge Comic Book Sale

EUGENE, Ore. — Comic bookers, listen up. One local collector’s stash is up for sale this weekend.

Dona Wilson has 200,000 comic books to sell from her late father’s extensive collection. She’s starting with about half of that in the liquidation sale.

Wilson’s mother and father owned a book store and these are the comic books they intended to sell and never did. She has everything from 50-cent-ers to Hulk Issue 181, worth thousands of dollars. Wilson says she’s excited to pass on some of what her father left behind to other people who will enjoy it.

“I’m hoping to sell a lot of comics, to just get a lot of comics out into the community, and also with my childhood of reading comics, I’d really like to spark that again with younger kids,” Wilson said.

Wilson says she plans to add about 10,000 comics to the boxes each night as they sell.

The sale is Friday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

The sale is taking place at 2175 West 7th in Eugene, next door to Harbor Freight Tools.
