EUGENE, Ore. — Commissioners talked about medical marijuana dispensaries during Wednesday’s meeting. Commissioners discussed the possibility of enacting a one year moratorium or ban on dispensaries within the county.
Some commissioners said this would give them time to figure out the logistics of these newly legal businesses. But others said it’s a waste of time.
“I’m in favor of supporting this moratorium with the standpoint that it’s going to buy us time to actually do some ver thoughtful processes to things that we should be thinking about,” said Commissioner Faye Stewart.
“I don’t think that it’s going to be doing anything other than foot dragging on the part of local governments,” said Commissioner Pete Sorenson.
If you want to give your opinion, the commission is taking public comment at its meeting on April 1st.
