Committee to Approve Lane County Budget

EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County Budget Committee will make a decision on next year’s budget Tuesday night.

After public comment last week, discussion began about reallocating money to the jail to help provide more beds.

As it currently sits, the proposal calls for significant cuts at the jail, sheriff’s office and medical examiner’s office.

Whatever is decided is then passed on to Lane County commissioners.

The budget has to be approved by June 20.
