Committee members will hear testimony from the public at that time.
The current recommendation is no cuts to public services and instead offer nearly $5.5 million in one time funding to support these services for the rest of the year. That money would come from PERS savings, the facilities reserve fund and money set aside for revenue shortfalls. By tapping into these funds, the committee will be required to meet again throughout the year and come up with a long-term plan.
Once public testimony is heard, the budget committee will make adjustments to its proposal before finalizing it.
