Concert Honors Domestic Violence Victim

EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene group is holding a benefit Thursday night to raise money and awareness about domestic violence.

Grrrlz Rock promotes women in music and arts. It is holding the benefit to honor Casey Wright, the Eugene woman police say was killed by her ex-boyfriend last month.

“We’ve seen significant reductions in funding, and so we’re unable to always provide all the services we want to be able to provide. We do our best with what we have, but it can be really challenging,” said Peggy Whalen, Womenspace Executive Director.

The event will take place at Cozmic Pizza, located at 199 W. 8th Ave. In Eugene, from 6-9 p.m. There will be blues music and a silent auction. There’s a $10 to $15 suggested donation. All proceeds are going to Womenspace.
