On Monday you’ll be able to grab a cup of Joe at Noble Care and Espresso. It’s just one new business stimulating our systems and the economy.
A dream is becoming a reality for the owners.
“It’s been months in the making for us. A lot of hard work has gone into it, and we are just excited to see it come to fruition,” said Katie Field, co-owner of Noble Cafe and Espresso.
They’re putting faith in their prime location at 8th and Park.
“I feel there is a lot of confidence downtown. People are excited about the pits being filled and new businesses opening, and we are just happy to be a part of that,” Field said.
“I think there is a little bit of momentum going on in our downtown here in Eugene as an example we have about $120 million in new investment on our way,” said Dave Hauser, Eugene Chamber of Commerce President.
That momentum is making its way over to Broadway and Willamette where Barnlight Cafe is under construction. And across the street, The Bijou Metro is getting ready to make movie magic with four cinemas set to open this winter.
“We are seeing these little pockets of commercial investment across the community and it’s a good thing,” Hauser said.
Also, one pocket on River Road has left many of us wondering what’s creating all the commotion. Construction crews tell us Aarons Furniture will call the new construction site home.
“It just shows that there is going to be people needing to work on this side as well as supplying work for all he construction people you see on the site, including myself,” said Knife River driver Matt Dawson.
From couches to coffee, most would agree it’s strength in numbers as the heartbeat of business comes back.
And its not just in Eugene we’re seeing this momentum, but surrounding areas as well. Friday is the official opening for Tom and Johnny’s Wine and Beer bar in Springfield.
