EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon made new improvements to an old building on campus, Wednesday.
University spokesperson Phil Weiler says Straub Hall has been around since the 1920’s. The director of construction says the building has seen its fair share of problems in the past and the construction will benefit students.
Weiler says it’s important to the school that they maintain the historic features of the building while making improvements.
“I think students are gonna be thrilled. It’s a beautiful historic building and the amount of effort and work that’s going into maintaining the historical integrity but also making it state of the art classroom space is neat,” Weiler said.
Offices that were located in Straub Hall have been relocated to other buildings around campus.
