FBI arrests Portland man for soliciting photos, videos from girls from iPhone app

A Portland man has been arrested for child pornography. Police say he was soliciting photos and videos from girls on an iPhone app called "Musical.Ly."

Ramon may have contacted many more children to receive similar photos and videos, the FBI says. Ramon works at El Programa Hispano Catalico (Catholic Charities) in Gresham. He previously worked at Metropolitan Family Service's SUN School program in Gresham.

Agents arrested Juan "Carlos" Ramon at his home on Thursday for production of child pornography.

The two girls live in Louisiana. Investigators said Ramon contacted the girls using an app called "Musical.ly," which allows users to generate a video, usually lasting between 15 seconds and 1 minute, and share it with other users.

This investigation began in June of 2017 when a family contacted a Louisiana sheriff's office.
