MAPLETON, Ore. -- Two horses were seized from a home in Lane County Wednesday afternoon.
County officials said the animals lacked sufficient food and necessary veterinary care. They said the horses weren't properly sheltered.
The owner, Heather Dollman, was cited on six counts of animal neglect.
The horses will be evaluated by a veterinarian and housed with a rescue agency until the court makes a decision on the case.
A tipster called the county when they saw the conditions the horses were kept in.
"We know that the care and health of animals is very important to our residents – it's important to Lane County too – and we appreciate their help identifying possible problem situations," said Lane County Animal Welfare Officer Bernard Perkins.
In 2013, Dollman was found guilty of neglecting three horses and a dog.
