SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- After more than a week of searching, police have arrested a man considered armed and dangerous in Springfield.

Adam Kohl Summerlyn, 33, is accused of shooting another man on Jan. 25.

Police said they were called to 4383 Forsythia Street after getting a call from inside the home. When they arrived, they found Joshua Harris, 24, lying in the yard with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Police said he's expected to get out of the hospital Friday.

Lt. Scott McKee with Springfield police said they learned Thursday that Summerlyn may have been driving a Subaru. About an hour later, an officer saw the vehicle near 42nd and Main streets.

The officer alerted other patrol staff and they conducted a high-risk car stop and arrested Summerlyn. McKee said he was cooperative.

McKee said they appreciate all the leads they got from the public that ultimately led to the arrest. Police think Summerlyn sheltered in place for awhile and then starting moving around, and he was likely trying to come up with another plan to get out of town.

McKee said he's facing charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault. Police say they're still investigating a possible motive.
