The book "In Ned's Head" was checked out from the library at Buena Vista Spanish Immersion School. The book describes boys peeking into the girls' locker room and talks about spying on naked women.

The book was brought home by a fifth grader who's mom shared the story on Facebook. It has drawn attention from other parents and many have shared their opinion on the book.

One person wrote, "This isn't appropriate at all for an elementary school... actually, I don't think it's appropriate for ANY grade level."

Another commenter defended the book, saying it provides an opportunity for parents to have an open conversation with their children.

A spokesperson for the 4J School District explained how books make it into an elementary school.

"School libraries provide material for students to take home and read at home. We do try to make sure those books are age appropriate, of course, what is appropriate in an elementary school can be really different between a kindergartener, a third grader, and a fifth grader," said Kerry Delf.

She also said what is appropriate may vary from family to family. She said if a parent has concerns about something their child brings home, they should talk about it with the school directly.

Delf did say they would be looking into whether or not the book is appropriate and whether it will remain available at Buena Vista.
