EUGENE, Ore. -- The trial has begun against a man shot in a 2016 officer-involved shooting.
Edgar Rodriguez is facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon. Police said Rodriguez called 911 after a fight broke out at his apartment.
When officers arrived, they said the former Oregon National Guard member was outside, holding a gun and he wouldn't drop it.
Police said shots were fired and Rodriguez was hit.
The district attorney ruled the shooting was justified.
