Dave Holder is the Morning Meteorologist for KEZI 9 News.
Dave Holder has been fascinated with all aspects of weather since his early childhood. He worked at KHQA in Quincy, Illinois before coming out west to Oregon. As the morning meteorologist for KEZI, he obtained his degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
Born in England, one of his earliest memories was the “Great Storm of 1987,” which wreaked havoc across the British Isles. He also experienced the “Storm of the Century” in 1993, after moving to the Philadelphia area. Dave’s love of everything weather-related includes thunderstorms and tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, nor’easters, and ice storms.
During his time in the OU Meteorology program, Dave was able to chase the fiercest weather North America has to offer, chasing storms from the Mexican border north to the Canadian Prairies. In doing so, he has witnessed over 125 tornadoes across the continent and chased hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and on the Atlantic Coast. Dave has been interviewed by multiple media outlets across the globe, including television, radio and print, and had a small role in the Discovery Channel's show, Storm Chasers. An avid traveler, Dave has visited all 50 US states and 16 foreign countries. In addition to weather and traveling, some of his other hobbies include poker, bowling, history, and Sooner and Philadelphia Eagles football.
