SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Contractors in Springfield accidentally ruptured a gas line late Wednesday morning.
A worker digging near 47th and Main Street damaged a pipe.
NW Natural crews responded quickly and repaired the pipe. The gas company says this is a perfect example of why contractors should dial 8-1-1 before digging projects to avoid future gas leaks.

I just wanted to say that this location that they were diggin in has been located for about a month. You can still see the location lines that they put along the side walk for a about 50 yards. I work right by where this took place and remember people out there spraying lines. This another good reason why reporters should get their facts straight before publishing a story.
