Tuesday’s Weather Discussion from Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton
Another nice cool day with higher humidities which means more cloud cover but also less grass pollen attacking your senses. Overnight, the low clouds will move back in and lows will settle down into the mid 40s.
Highs for the next couple of days will be well below normal, in the mid to upper 60s in the valley, low 70s in the Umpqua. In addition, the morning clouds are back and as the center of the low swings inland, we may even see some occasional showers squeezing out Wednesday at the coast and inland on Thursday. Any showers that fall will be light overall but they’ll be the first ones we’ve seen this month so far.
By the weekend, highs return to the mid and upper 70s, but that’s it. There’s a slight chance for some mountain thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday with a storm spinning offshore. Most of the thunderstorms will be confined to the Cascades, but Sunday night we might see some slipping into the valleys. We’ll see! Early next week, things are looking wetter than what we’ve seen all month. Maybe we can finally get the layers of pollen washed off.
Have a great Wednesday!
