Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
Smoke from the Deception Complex will once again cause air quality issues in addition to potentially new evacuations around the perimeter of the fire lines. The latest information on the fire and associated evacuations is here: Deception Complex
We reached 90 once again today in Eugene. That makes now 30 days this summer of 90 or higher, only one away from tying the all-time record of 31 set back in 1958. If we hit 90 again, it’ll have to been next week because the cooler air is already on the move and will chop temps back for the holiday weekend. Overnight, the clouds are back at the coast for the morning and some spreading inland for the am hours. We’ll move back into the low 80s and should be able to crack out some decent sunshine in the afternoon.
By the weekend, the clouds will get thicker at the coast as well. Coastal locales might be dealing with some patchy drizzle just about each day of the holiday weekend. Heading into the mountains for camping this weekend will be cloudy, cooler with highs in the upper 60s and lows falling into the upper 30s! So make sure you’ve got some layers for the chilly overnights. None of the small systems coming in this weekend look too impressive so the main areas impacted will likely be the coast and mountains. That said, Duck and Beaver home openers will both be mostly cloudy and Autzen might see the best chance for a sprinkle with a 7:30pm kickoff.
Have a great Friday!
