METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:

It was a gloomy start to Mother’s Day, but the clouds broke apart by late morning leading to some sunshine and temps in the upper 70s.

A few showers will move in heading into Sunday night; showers will mainly be Florence to Eugene, north.

A better chance of rain comes Monday as the storm system moves through. Scattered showers can be expected along the coast, in the Willamette Valley and in the Cascades; isolated showers in the Umpqua. High temps will be in mid to upper 60s inland and upper 50s along the coast. Coastal areas can expect the winds to pick up as well, with gusts near 30 mph.

Dry weather will return Tuesday and Wednesday with highs slightly above average in the upper 60s and low 70s. Another chance for rain comes Thursday and Friday; high temps will remain in the upper 60s.

Have a wonderful week!
