CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JUSTIN STAPLETON’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Tomorrow, winds start to move in off the ocean again, so the coast will cloud up by late afternoon, but inland areas will likely see another mostly sunny day with highs again in the mid 70s and near 80 in the Umpqua. Clouds are back on Saturday as the winds take a more westerly push, which with the addition of marine air, will pull highs back down into the upper 60s to low 70s. The Oregon Ducks Spring game should be dry with an 11am kickoff in the low 60s, and some decent sun by the second half.
Sunday’s Eugene Marathon will also be mostly cloudy, with mid 40s or so at the 7am start but mid 60s for early afternoon (which is generally how long I would take to complete a marathon!) A stronger cold front will move through the state late Sunday night into Monday bringing the first rain chances in well over a week. Lightly scattered to isolated showers and low 60s will be the start of the work week.
It’ll be short-lived, dry again by Tuesday with the ridge starting to rebuild Wednesday, bringing back the sunny skies and 70s.
Have a great Friday!
