METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
It was a chilly start Sunday morning with lows in the low 50s, even the mid 40s in a few spots. High temperatures were also cooler, topping out in the low 80s.
The marine layer will push in along the coast Sunday night and work its way through the coastal gaps into the southern Willamette Valley. The clouds will quickly burn off Monday morning, leading to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. High temperature will be in the low 60s along the coast, low 80s for the valley & foothills, and mid 80s for the Umpqua.
Skies will remain mostly sunny for the upcoming week with high temperatures about the same as Monday. An upper level low will move across the area Tuesday night through Friday. This low will increase cloud cover across the area and bring the chance for a few thunderstorms in the mountains.
Have a wonderful week!
