Coos Bay Woman Injured in Truck Crash

3-24 COOS BAY LOG TRUCK CRASHCOOS BAY, Ore. — A Coos Bay woman is recovering after being injured in a crash involving a loaded log truck.

The crash happened Monday morning along Highway 241 near Allegany east of Coos Bay.

Oregon State Police says Melissa J. LaRue, 32, was driving southbound on Highway 241 near milepost 15 when her car crossed the centerline and hit a northbound Kenworth truck pulling a trailer loaded with logs driven by James Cook, 46, from Coos Bay. Police say the truck stopped over an embankment, blocking one lane.

Police say LaRue was taken to Bay Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police cited her for fail to maintain a lane of travel.
