Coos County Autopsy Results Released

COQUILLE, Ore. — The Coos County Sheriff’s Office has released the autopsy results of a Coos Bay man who was severely beaten to death.

The autopsy showed Randy Leroy Harless, 55, was hit with a blunt object multiple times in the head, suffering several skull fractures. He died of traumatic brain injury. Harless was also stabbed several times in the side, shoulder area and chest.

On August 25, police found Harless injured on a driveway at 820 Augustine in Coos Bay. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Witnesses say they saw a man fleeing the scene, traveling south on Augustine shortly after 9 p.m.

Police are still looking for the suspect, described as a male about 5’10” tall and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. If you have any information, call the Coos Bay Police Department at (541) 269-8914.
