Corvallis Church Equipment Stolen

CORVALLIS, Ore. — A man’s in jail after deputies say he stole almost $20,000 worth of equipment from a Corvallis church.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says Joshua Reith stole audiovisual equipment from the First Presbyterian Church downtown early Friday morning.

A deputy says he saw the suspect pushing a cart of equipment down the street, saw the church’s label on it, and arrested him for theft and for having meth.

The church says though it’s disappointed, it hopes it’s a good reminder for the community to continue to support those who are in need.

“As much as we can, we try to help people wherever their needs are. And if we can’t help them, we try to point them to the organizations that can,” said Matt Gough, Senior Pastor.

The church has all of its equipment back and says it’s all in working order.
