CORVALLIS, Ore. — 25-year-old Sean Gilbertson of Albany, the suspect in an armed robbery, made his first appearance in a Corvallis courtroom Thursday.
Corvallis Police say Gilbertson robbed the Shell gas station in South Corvallis last week. He appeared in court Thursday via video for his arraignment. The court is presuming a not-guilty plea for Gilbertson until he meets with an attorney.
Police used surveillance photos to track him down after the robbery. They say he didn’t get away with much money, but that wasn’t the biggest concern.
“It was an armed robbery,” said Lt. Cord Wood of the Corvallis Police Department. “He brought a gun. Now in this case it turned out to be a BB gun. But when it’s pointed at you, sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between a BB gun and a real gun.”
Gilbertson faces several charges including the unlawful use of a weapon. In this case, police say a BB gun counts under that charge.
