CORVALLIS, Ore. — Police say jealousy turned into a murder plot for one Corvallis man, but he didn’t get away with it.
Corvallis police say 35-year-old Michael Estrada held a knife to his ex-girlfriend’s throat at his apartment and demanded that she call a male friend of hers to meet them. She got away, and police say they found Estrada with two butcher knives up his sleeves.
Police say it’s unclear what the relationship between the woman and the other victim is.
“That’s really unclear if she’s having a relationship with the male victim or if they’re friends. I don’t know. But the suspect was allegedly upset about her relationship with the male victim,” said Capt. Dave Henslee, Corvallis Police Department.
Estrada is facing charges of attempted murder. His bail is set for more than $200,000.
