COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — Lane County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Cottage Grove man for allegedly kidnapping a man Sunday morning.
Deputies received a called Sunday morning about a man, later identified as 27-year-old Norman Kohl, running through private property, saying someone was chasing after him with a rifle.
Kohl told deputies that he had been in a dispute with Robert Thraen, 37, of Cottage Grove at a home on Lorane Highway. Investigators said Thraen pointed a gun a Kohl and threatened him. When Thraen got distracted by a phone call, Kohl escaped.
Thraen was found several hours later hiding under a manufactured home, where he had been for more than two hours.
Thraen was lodged in the Lane County Jail for kidnap, felon in possession of a firearm, menacing and other charges.
