COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — The Cottage Grove Speedway could re-open this weekend, after being shut down by the city in August. The track was closed because of code violations; but now, new ownership is looking to clean things up and bring it back to code.
“Not all the improvements can be done; the permitting is going to take a lot of time. Jerry’s willing to work with the city; whatever they want him to do, he’s willing to do that.” said Ben Deatherage of Endeavor Promotions.
A representative from the City Manager’s Office says as long as the speedway fixes the health and safety issues, it can re-open this weekend. Any other fixes can be solved in the coming months.
