EUGENE, Ore. — Finding a new home for City Hall was up for discussion at Monday night’s council meeting.
Councilors listened to several people during a public forum about the three options on the table; renovate the current city hall site, rebuild on the site or relocate to the EWEB building on Fourth Street.
Most who spoke at the meeting and at previous open houses, seemed to prefer keeping city hall at the current site.
“I strongly encourage you to keep the site where it is in downtown,” said one resident.
“Our site is in a spot where it’s grown around its city hall and that’s the right site,” said another resident
All three options would cost about $15 million. Councilors could make a site decision as early as Wednesday, during the City Council work session.
