SUTHERLIN, Ore. – City Council voted Monday night to support its contract with Douglas County Fire District 2.
Councilors also asked the city manager to look into putting a measure on the November ballot that would annex Sutherlin into district two.
At least one city councilor had pitched breaking the contract for fire protection and switching to an all-volunteer fire department for the city.
