EUGENE, Ore. — The future of development in the Glenwood area now sits in the hands of Lane County Commissioners.
Commissioners discussed the logistics of funding for the proposed convention center in Glenwood, Tuesday. Leaders from the city of Springfield and consultants with the project presented their plans in front of the commission.
While some commissioners say they’re excited for this future development, others say they’re a little skeptical.
“I have lots of concerns one of which it doesn’t seem like there are enough rooms in the hotel to match the size of the convention center and most places won’t book a convention site if they don’t have enough rooms within walking distance,” said Jay Bozievich, Lane County Commission.
Commissioners will take public comment on the Glenwood development at the beginning of May.
