Lane County Public Health partnered with Trillium to host the clinic at the Lane Community College downtown campus.
Organizers say people lined up right away as soon as they opened at 9 a.m.
County Commissioner Pat Farr was at the clinic and says he expects people to continue to come in. Those who got their shots say they’re grateful for resources like this.
“I think it’s a good idea to give more free shots because less people will be sick and they will be able to do more stuff like shopping and enjoying their lives,” said Eugene resident Michelle Billington.
Farr says last year alone in Lane County, $11 million was spent on hospital admissions because of the flu, so he says it’s great to see people taking extra precautions.
