County Investigates Oakland Man’s Death

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says the death of a missing Oakland man does not appear to be suspicious.

Search and rescue crews found the body of Brian Trumbo last week near Dorena Resevoir.

The Lane County medical examiner is waiting for toxicology reports before releasing a cause of death.

The county’s search and rescue team looked for Trumbo last week but didn’t find his body. Then a group of Trumbo’s friends organized their own search in an area near where his car was found, which may have helped deputies find his body.

“I believe they found a pair of shoes and I have not been able to confirm or deny that they are his shoes or not. That’s still up in the air,” said John Miller, Lane County Search and Rescue.

Search coordinators say there didn’t appear to be any trauma on Trumbo’s body.
