ALBANY, Ore. — Oregon State Police say a driver fell asleep at the wheel and then started a brush fire Monday afternoon.
Troopers say Joseph Bagg fell asleep on Highway 20. His car ran off the road and hit a power pole. Sparks from the live wires then ignited a brush fire.
Bagg wasn’t hurt, but the crash caused crews to close the highway for an hour.
Bagg was cited by OSP for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and careless driving.
