EUGENE, Ore. — About a dozen fire trucks responded to battle a house fire in Eugene, Friday night.
The fire broke out in the 700 block of Skipper. Crews shut down parts of the roads as they battled the fire and the home is heavily damaged.
At one point crews had to knock down an outer wall with a chainsaw. People from all over the neighborhood were gathering to see what happened.
One neighbor described seeing high flames, some even heard a popping noise that sounded like fireworks.
” I talked to the neighbors and they were all having a family thing when it happened and they said it was fireworks and they and they also said everyone got out ok,” said Riley Thornton, a neighbor.
The Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire.
