Crews Slurry Seal Eugene Streets

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene streets are getting a facelift this week.

The city of Eugene says the process called slurry sealing happens every year.

The treatment fills crack in the roads by putting a protective layer of asphalt and sand to protect roads. The slurry sealing also prevents water from seeping into the road, which causes quicker erosion. The city of Eugene says it prepares for this every summer.

Most of the streets under construction are in the Elmira Road area.
