EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police’s outreach in neighborhood areas has been followed by a decrease in property crimes.
After West Eugene reported an increase in property crimes in September, Eugene Police responded by developing a plan to notify residents and provide prevention tips. Following the outreach program, the next round of statistics showed that property crime was drastically reduced.
After the success of the outreach program in the West Eugene neighborhood, staff from the Crime Prevention Unit, Patrol, Traffic Enforcement, will be out, between 11th and 19th Avenues and Oak and Alder streets on Wednesday from 9:30-1:30 p.m. They will be notifying neighbors of the success and providing more prevention information.
