EUGENE, Ore. — One man is set to represent Eugene on a world stage next week when he competes in the Reebok CrossFit Games in Los Angeles.
Ben Stoneberg competed in the games last year and placed 16th overall in the world.
This year, he says he wants to at least match that, but he’s going to aim higher.
From lifting weights to running and swimming, he says he has to practice all year to be ready, and his passion for the CrossFit sport has made the process fun and healthy.
“It’s something I always strive to be better at. I want to make my body as healthy as possible, you know, longevity. I want to live a long time and hopefully keep my body from injuries,” Stoneberg said.
The games will include the top 48 competitors in the world.
Events start on July 21 and run through July 27.
