Culinary Students Continue Dinner Preps

EUGENE, Ore. — Are you ready for turkey day? Culinary students at Lane Community College have been working all week long to make sure their big Whiteaker Community Dinner goes off without a hitch.

About 70 students have been involved throughout the whole process. They and other volunteers spent the weekend chopping and cooking, and Wednesday the work continued. They prepared gallons upon gallons of dressing.

“We’ve got lots of things happening right now and we’re charging forward,” said Clive Wanstall, LCC Chef Instructor.

“That’s how we share our affection for people and our caring for people is we cook,” said student Elizabeth Stewart.

Students also spent the day gathering all the necessary equipment for Thursday’s big dinner, which was all moved to the dinner site Wednesday afternoon.
