Habitat for HumanityEUGENE, Ore. — Accountants at Moss-Adams traded in their computers for tool belts and braved the heat for their annual day of service.

About 60 volunteers from the Eugene accounting firm worked at five local nonprofits.

Where about a dozen employees painted a Habitat for Humanity home on Yogi Drive near River Road.

Others volunteered at the Northwest Youth Corps, Pearl Buck Center, ShelterCare and Relief Nursery.

One executive said the employees look forward to their day out of the office.

“It’s just a great opportunity, and the fact we do it during the summer and we get to be outside and doing something different, everyone really enjoys it,” said Michelle Meador, Moss-Adams sales and marketing manager.

A committee of Moss-Adams employees chose the nonprofits based on an application process.
