EUGENE, Ore. — Rep. Peter DeFazio has canceled the town hall meetings he had scheduled for September 25 and 26.
DeFazio was scheduled to hold 16 town hall meetings across southwest Oregon; but a schedule change by the U.S. House of Representatives to hold votes next week forced him to cancel the second half of the scheduled town halls. Meetings were cancelled in Florence, Eugene, Springfied, Monroe, Lebanon, Albany and Corvallis.
“Instead of talking with you at a town hall, I will be back in Washington, D.C., voting on a bill that should already have been signed into law,” DeFazio said.
DeFazio will still hold a town hall meeting in Roseburg, on September 24 from 6-7 p.m. at Roseburg City Hall, 900 SE Douglas St.
As an alternative for the meetings cancelled, DeFazio has scheduled a telephone town hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 1. Resident should fill out the town hall form, here.
